Morten Axel Pedersen comments on new study about AI poems

DISTRACT PI, Professor Morten Axel Pedersen was interviewed for the article: “Folk foretrækker digte skrevet af kunstig intelligens frem for Shakespeare” (EN: “People prefer poems by artificial intelligence to Shakespeare”) by Videnskab.dk. In the article, he comments on a new study published by “Scientific Reports,” where they found that people prefer poems written by AI and generally have a hard time distinguishing between poems written by AI and poets. To this Morten Axel Pedersen comments that training an AI to imitate Shakespeare is rather a technical process than creativity, and that he does not believe this study proves that artificial intelligence can challenge human creativity.
