Finalising 2020 at DISTRACT
On December the 18th, the DISTRACT members of staff finished off DISTRACT's first year by sharing ideas, data sets and preliminary articles from the project's four sub-projects. In spite of the difficult working conditions due to the covid-19 pandemic, the year has been highly productive at DISTRACT. On the 18th, the members of staff presented and discussed a quali-quantitative view on coding, a scraping of the life of the film "Social Dilemma", an ethnographic study of the digital detox economy in Denmark, an analysis of the Waldorf Schools in Denmark, a discussion of how to study images as data for social science and a mapping of the philosophical descriptions of attention.
In classic 2020 mode, the staff went on holiday by toasting with each other on Zoom.
