Fælleshed eller Fællesskab? – DISTRACT presentation at Folkemødet
On the 13th of June the DISTRACT researchers Morten Axel Pedersen, Emilie Munch Gregersen, Magnus Nørtoft, and Karoline Husbond Andersen will give a presentation at Folkemødet, based on interactive insights from the frontlines of Folkemøde research.
They invite the audience and a panel of festival and community experts on an interactive journey through their interdisciplinary research on Folkemødet. Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative data, insights, and results from their large-scale field experiments at Folkemødet in 2020 and 2021, they present a deep dive into social science research on attention, togetherness, and community at festivals. They explore questions such as: Why is it sometimes so exciting to be a spectator at a debate at, say, Folkemødet — and at other times rather boring? What does it really mean to participate in an event together? Can people share an experience without actually being part of the same community? And can these questions be investigated and answered through interdisciplinary social science research?
