DISTRACT in the news: on the Folkemøde study in Politiken
DISTRACT team members Morten Axel Pedersen (PI), August Lohse and Emilie Munch Gregersen were interviewed for Danish newspaper Politiken on their field studies of political attention at the People’s Meeting (Folkemødet) on Bornholm in 2021 and 2022.
Using highly structured ethnographic observations of attentional behavior coupled with pulse data of spectators, the team investigated how the attention fluctuates during a political debate and in particular whether spectators synchronize with one another as the event progresses.
