DISTRACT at Folkemødet 2025
On Friday the 13th, DISTRACT researchers Morten Axel Pedersen, Emilie Munch Gregersen, Karoline Husbond Andersen and Magnus Nørtoft presented findings from studying the Danish People’s Meeting (Folkemødet) in 2021 and 2022 on the Research Stage at the People’s Meeting. The presentation touched upon questions of collective effervescence, social synchrony, and solidarity at the festival. Afterwards, the panel took questions from the audience and had an interesting debate regarding “Danishness”, the future of the festival and democracy.
