Cross-country survey on digital disconnection habits
On November 23rd, PhD student at DISTRACT Malene Hornstrup Jespersen presented plans for two upcoming survey projects at the online Digitox seminar series hosted by the University of Oslo. One project aims in part to discover which aspects of screen time – which types of screen activities and which social media platforms – cause concern about digital (over)use among the Danish population and who is most concerned. The second is an international collaboration led by the University of Amsterdam (Hao Nguyen) and the University of Copenhagen (Malene Hornstrup Jespersen) where the prevalence of digital disconnection as well as differences and similarities in social norms and motivations to disconnect will be compared across at least five different countries.
