Solidarity during the Corona crisis

Together with Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology Jonas Toubøl and others, Postdoc at SODAS Hjalmar A. B. Carlsen investigates solidarity among Danes during the Corona crisis. Jonas Toubøl talks about the results of the analysis in an interview by Danish Radio. The study shows that the Danes have helped enormously. One of the results is that 54% of the Danish population has helped each other in order to get through the crisis. They have done it in a lot of different ways, says Jonas Toubøl. First and foremost, they have shared a lot of information with each other. Next, they have helped those who have had to isolate themselves with for example grocery shopping. The Danes also helped each other by providing financial support to those who needed it because of job loss.
