The Dynamics of Political Discourse and Attention during the COVID-19 outbreak
This project investigates what issues and discourse the corona epidemic raises in the Danish public debate, based on mixing large-scale quantitative text analysis with qualitative coding and validation. The project particularly focuses on how the corona debate unfolds on Twitter and in news articles.
We are particularly interested in the affective framing and microhistory of the corona pandemic in online, public discourse as well as how it affects our understanding of and awareness of other pressing challenges and issues, such as climate. We do this based on multidisciplinary methods and competences in the intersection of data and social sciences, which enable us to collect and analyze large unstructured text data from social media and other digital platforms.
