How We Tweet About Corona Virus

Co-PI of DISTRACT and associate professor in sociology, Anders Blok, presented findings of DISTRACT at a CWTS/TIB webinar Doing Science in Times of Crisis: Science Studies Perspectives on Covid-19 organised by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies, Leiden University, and the TIB Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology.

At the webinar, science studies research on the covid-19 pandemic was showcased and discussed, and Blok presented a study on the political attention in Denmark during the covid-19 pandemic. This study was conducted by a group of researchers from DISTRACT, and it was based on a computational anthropological mapping of the Danish Twitter landscape. Drawing on an affect analysis, the group argued that 'trustiness' is performed on Twitter as a form of Danish biopolitical nationalism.
