Kelton Minor as Associate Professor

Kelton

We warmly welcome Kelton Minor as a new Associate Professor in Planetary Behavioral Data Science, in a joint position at the Copenhagen Center for Social Data Science (SODAS) and the Department of Psychology.

Kelton's research combines advances from the computational and environmental behavioral sciences with spatial data science and AI to examine how individuals and populations adapt to rapid global changes in the atmosphere, biosphere, and cybersphere. His work includes large-scale behavioral analyses of digital trace data from mobile devices, textual data from social media, and geolocated national surveys and health registry data to monitor and inform societal responses to global environmental changes. Kelton is a world expert on how rising temperatures affect our sleep, mental and behavioral health, and how worse weather amplifies social media activity online. He is also an expert on Arctic climate impacts, climate emotions, and psychological adaptation to planetary-scale changes, and a member of The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change's Working Group I, which addresses climate change hazards, vulnerability and impacts.
