Students for data analysis at SODAS
We are looking for three new student assistants for data collection, data analysis and programming at the Center for Social Data Science (SODAS) at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen. SODAS is an interdisciplinary research and education center across the social sciences (in particular: anthropology, psychology, sociology, political science and economics) and data science to develop a new field that we call social data science. SODAS has a new address at CSS, Øster Farimagsgade 5, building 1, second floor.
Data collection, web scraping, data processing, visualization and supervised implementation of machine learning models, primarily in Python and R, including text as data, and statistical tasks, etc. in, for example, SAS and Stata. In addition, there are incidental tasks incl. organization of events etc.
The work is carried out in collaboration with researchers, PhD students and other student assistants.
The following will be an advantage:
- Students in social sciences with an interest in data science or students in statistics/computer science/data science/engineering education etc. with an interest in social science
- Experience with or positive attitude to Python and also like R
- Interest in combining qualitative and/or quantitative social science with data science
- Open and curious about working with people with other professions
- Good English language skills in writing and speech
A premise for hiring is that you are enrolled in a higher education institution.
Working hours and wages
Working hours are flexible, and are expected to average approx. 10-12 hours a week.
Employment and remuneration take place as students in accordance with the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employee Organizations - The Government Area (OAO Joint Agreement) and Organizational Agreement for Office Officials, Laborers and IT Employees (HK) § 35.
The minimum hourly wage is kr. 125.22. You will be paid on the basis of previous employment.
