How to convince the Danes to stay home?

The majority of Danes do not just obey obediently the authorities' advice and guidelines during the corona crisis. We really do it with pleasure. Many even with pride. And if we are asked to explain why, we do not initially answer that we are afraid of the coronavirus, but that we would like to take one for the team. The old and the exposed, friends and family of course. But also for the big team. Our compatriots. And even so: humanity.

Professor at SODAS Robert Böhm and Professor at the Department of Psychology Ingo Zettler are the two PIs investigating how the Danes react to the authorities recommendations during the corona crisis through the COVID-19 Snapshot MOnitoring (COSMO) project. The project is funded by KU’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Lundbeck Foundation. It is part of a larger research initiative coordinated by WHO/Europe and will be ongoing for the next 5 months.

Their results have been summarized in Politiken. Note that the article is in Danish.
